“Arecibo Observatory - Legacy and Future”

238th AAS Conference

The AO science group would like to invite you to our AAS 238th Splinter meeting: where we will discuss the actual state and the long term plan for the future of Arecibo. Check our agenda below. For more information about the AAS 238th conference, please go to its Official Website.

“Arecibo Observatory - Legacy and Future”

Date: 08 June 2021 (Tuesday), Time: 12:00 – 13:30 PM ET

Over the past decades, the Arecibo Observatory (AO) produced new and groundbreaking sciences and added a long history of extraordinary achievements in three major scientific areas: planetary science, space and atmospheric sciences, and astronomy. In the tremendous wake of the 305-m radio telescope, the AO is interested in developing a strategic new plan, unparalleled facility to address the best and push forward its established cornerstone science branches, since it has featured prominently in driving these science studies. The AO Splinter Session at the 238th AAS Meeting is open to all. This session will include an overview of on-going studies and talks focusing on sciences and data platforms that are important for the future.
